wow, this is a wonderful rememberance for our brother, our son , our friend...
some of u know me as dee dee, some as drewski or drewpee, some as darryl, and some simply as tony's brother darryl. i watched mike n his buddies grow from boys to men...ive realized the pain i fell over this loss, is the same as the pain one feels from losing a family member... i share no blood to or with the lazare family, other than the bonds that where shared, developed over thirty plus years that I... was blessed to have been part of......thanks for the memories
Michael was sharp and street smart at an early age. He had the ability to quickly read a situation and figure out the best approach.
He was about 5 years old and I was baby sitting him and his baby sister Michelle.
Mike wanted something, I cannot even remember what it was exactly, probably ice cream or cake or cookies. He had already had more than his share so this was extra, extras.
I overheard him telling Michelle "You go and ask for it. You will get it."
Most kids that age when they want something they will just ask and ask or resort to tears.
Not Mike. He had figured out how to get what he wanted the smart way.
I remember thinking to myself this kid is a smart survivor.
Did he get what he wanted? Of course. It was Mike.
